It's a **free, open-source, multi-species pedigree registry** designed for breeds, landraces and local animal populations that don't have a unified online studbook.
Many well-established breeds already have excellent registry systems. But countless regional, emerging or unrecognized populations don't. Their pedigrees are scattered across spreadsheets, Facebook groups, notebooks—or simply disappear over time.
Open Studbook aims to give those communities a place to preserve ancestry, breeding history and bloodlines in one shared, accessible database.
The long-term vision is also exciting. As pedigree data grows, AI could help identify founder lines, monitor genetic diversity, detect bottlenecks and support responsible breeding and conservation.
The project is still in **pilot phase**, so I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback, criticism and ideas. If something doesn't work, tell me. If something is missing, tell me. That's exactly why I'm sharing it early.
