My vision is to see a cynologially institutionally recognized (FCI/AKC etc.) azawakh population outside of it's countries of origin, which is
1. healthy (anatomically, mentally, socially behaviourally)
2. genetically diverse
3. pleasing to the eye (within that subjective range, strives for aesthetics, that is a result of the coo environment and functions therefore strives for resemblance to coo dogs)
+1. I want to see the standard reversed, broadened, this is a suggested new standard, - as the current one is too strict on unjustified and unrational expectations on features, that are not in line with coo dogs' naturally occuring features.
My mission is in accordance, to import coo dogs, breed them to matching institutionally recognized dogs, with whom they produce healthy, genetically diverse azawakhs, that are pleasing to the eye, which will be also contributing in further breeding.
Strategy: get my coo dogs registered under FCI, let them DNA screened. This has been accomplished. I will let my male's semen frozen stored and ad hoc upon request will make it available for chilled shipment as well. I will breed my female with a matching stud, and will prioritize future owners in my choice, who will utilize the offspring in responsible breeding programs, if the specimens allow for it.
2021/10 update:
I have frozen semen available from Mali import Menegee and of Niger import, Inaya's son, Rouchenn, who came temporarily back to my ownership.
I love your vison and program, and wish you much success in it. I only wish that the American Kennel Club was as accommodating regarding COO dogs. It seems that people interested in this noble breed are only in it for fashion.
